EMPORIA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team sits in sixth place after two days of the MIAA Outdoor Championships. The final day of action will take place on Sunday.
The Ichabods picked up 10 total team points from the pole vault crew as
Virgi Scardanzan finished second with a mark of 4.03m (13-02.50) earning all-MIAA honors and
Rachael Mayberry collected 10 points by finishing sixth with a mark of 3.93m (12-10.75).
Washburn also picked up six points after the 3000m steeplechase as Katharina Gotschl was fifth with a personal best earning four team points in a time of 11:37.19.
Eve Weber finished seventh in a time of 11:43.52 earning two team points.
Paola Castaldi was third in the hammer throw earning all-MIAA honors and six team points with a mark of 52.38m (171-10).
The Ichabods will look to pick up more points in the finals of the 100m and 200m as
Isabella Hohl finished with the fastest qualifying mark in the 100m in a school-record time of 11.56 for an NCAA provisional mark and a Washburn record. Hohl was the No. 2 qualifier in the 200m in a school record and NCAA provisional mark of 24.11.
