LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Washburn volleyball came in ranked No. 13 in the latest AVCA Division II Coaches Poll released this afternoon. The Ichabods (8-1) move up two spots in the polls and received a total of 602 points.
Last week Washburn began conference play with two matches at home, on Friday the Ichabods swept previously No. 7 ranked Nebraska-Kearney and on Saturday they defeated Fort Hays State 3-0.
For a third consecutive week there is a new No. 1 as Wayne State [NE] jumped into the top spot with an 8-1 record on the year. Concordia- St. Paul, which held the top spot last week, came in at No. 2 after dropping its first match of the year.
Four MIAA teams are ranked in this week's poll, the Lopers still sit on top at No. 10. Central Oklahoma moved up to No. 21 while Northwest Missouri fell to No. 24. Central Missouri is receiving votes.
The Ichabods head on the road this week taking on Missouri Southern at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 22 and the Jennies the next day at 2 p.m.
