KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's cross country placed 19 student-athletes on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll that was released today by the league office. In addition, Washburn placed one on the MIAA's Scholar Athlete listing and four on the MIAA Academic Excellence chart.
Donald Kibet was the only Ichabod to be named to the MIAA Scholar Athlete list after earning all-MIAA honors as well as having a grade point average of at least 3.50. The nursing major finished the season earning All-American honors by finishing 35
th at the NCAA National Championships leading the Ichabods to a program-best 24
th-place team finish.

Tessa Jeffery (kinesiology) and
Katy Menke (elementary education) were all named to the MIAA Academic Excellence listing for their 4.0 cumulative grade point averages.

To be recognized on the Academic Honor Roll, one must have a grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution. The individual must also have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
The teams newcomers will be eligible for the awards at the conclusion of the spring semester after recording their two terms of attendance at Washburn.
