Ichabod track and field teams shine at multiple events

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track and field wrapped up the Emporia State Midwest Classic on Friday while continuing action at several meets in California on Friday that will carry over to Saturday. Be sure to check back at wusports.com for more results as events are completed. 
 
At the Bryan Clay Invitational and Multis, Naiuri Krein finished fourth in the pentathlon recording 5,177 points breaking the previous Washburn record of 5,000 points. Her total was also an NCAA provisional mark. She finished first in the shot put and second in the javelin headlining her day.
 
Pau Borillo-Febrer finished ninth in the decathlon with 6,277 points for a personal best.
 
Alessandro Di Gregorio finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 2.13m (6-11.75) for an NCAA provisional height.
 
David Kibet  finished fourth in the 10,000m with a personal best and NCAA provisional mark of 29:43.07.
 
Lexie Fontaine broke the school record in the 800m in a time of 2:09.31 for an NCAA provisional mark taking 11th overall.

Paola Castaldi finished 18th in the weight throw breaking her own school record for the second-straight day with a mark of 56.36m (184-11).
 
At the ESU Midwest Classic, Adrianna McMurray finished third in the 100m hurdles in a personal best time of 15.99. Gabriel Chinya won the 1500m in a time of 3:53.55 and Drew McGilton took second in the decathlon with an NCAA provisional point total of 6,049 points for a personal best.
