LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Washburn volleyball moves up one spot in the latest AVCA poll released on Monday afternoon by the organization. The Ichabods jump to No. 7 as they head into the MIAA Tournament.
Finishing the regular season with a 24-3 record, Washburn is ranked No. 7 nationally with 904 total points received in the poll. They move up from a No. 8 ranking last week.
Tampa holds down the top spot again with a 25-0 record and all 47 first-place votes. Wayne State moves up from No. 3 to No. 2 while Nebraska Kearney is slotted at No. 3. Also around the MIAA, Central Oklahoma drops one spot to No. 8. Missouri Western holds steady at No. 16 and Emporia State is ranked No. 24. Central Missouri is receiving votes in the poll once again.
Washburn returns to action on Thursday, November 20 in the quarterfinal round of the MIAA Tournament at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo. where they take on Central Missouri.
