MARYVILLE, Mo. – After two days of the MIAA Indoor Championship, the Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team sits in second place overall. The final day will take place on Sunday at Northwest Missouri.
On the second day of the event, Washburn gained two all-MIAA performers as
Alex Hart finished third in the long jump and
Isabel Demarco de Quadros was also third in the pole vault picking up six and 5.5 points respectively with two NCAA provisional marks.
Eve Weber finished fifth in the 5000m run in a time of 17:30.52 earning four team points and an NCAA provisional mark.
The distance medley relay team of
Jolie Evans,
Ashley Heavner,
Riley Ammons and
Lexie Fontaine were sixth in the event scoring three team points.
Adriel Holloway placed sixth in the weight throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 18.28m (59-11.75) scoring three team points.
Alyssa Hutcherson finished seventh in the long jump scoring two team points with an NCAA provisional mark of 5.70m (18-08.50).
Washburn will be well-represented in the Sunday finals races. In the 60m,
McKenzie Hayse, finished third in a time of 7.52. She will be joined by
Ta'Mijha Nichols, who was fourth in a time of 7.41 and
Alyssa Hutcherson, who finished sixth in the preliminaries in a time of 7.54. All three times were NCAA provisional mark and the times for Hayse and Nichols were both personal bests.
The trio will also represent Washburn in the 200m finals after all three qualified for Sunday's final race. Hayse was fourth in a time of 24:25 for a school record, a personal best. Nichols finished sixth in a time of 24:47 for a personal best time of her own and Hutcherson was seventh in a time of 24:51. All three times were personal bests.
In the 60m hurdles,
Kaylee James qualified for Sunday's finals finishing fifth in a personal best time of 8.80 for an NCAA provisional mark.
Kereser Augustin placed fourth in the 400m preliminaries breaking her own school record with a time of 55.64 advancing to the Sunday final with an NCAA provisional mark.
The Ichabods will have two 600-yard finalists as
Isabella Kupka was third with a personal best time of 1:24.35 in the event and
Katelyn Jones was eighth in a time of 1:25.59 for a personal best time.
Lexie Fontaine won the 800m prelims with a time of 2:19.73 for the top seed in the Sunday final.
