PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team turned in a strong second day at the 2026 MIAA Indoor Championships at the Robert W. Plaster Center on the campus of Pittsburg State University, highlighted by a podium finish in the high jump and key points in the horizontal jumps and pole vault.
Alex Hart led the way in the women's high jump, clearing 1.72m (5-7.75) to place third overall and score six team points. Teammates Molly Worley (1.62m) and Shaydin Myers (1.57m) also competed in the event.
In the women's weight throw, Adriel Holloway reached the finals and finished eighth with a top mark of 17.74m (58-2.50), adding a point for the Ichabods. Jadyn Falley recorded a throw of 14.56m.
Reagan Housley contributed three team points in the pole vault, clearing 3.88m (12-8.75) to finish sixth overall.
Washburn added valuable points in the long jump as Mellanie Neudinger placed fourth with a leap of 5.95m (19-6.25), earning five points. McKenzie Hayse also scored, finishing eighth at 5.70m (18-8.50). Kyra Ray added a mark of 5.31m.
On the track, the Ichabods advanced several sprinters to championship finals. In the 60-meter dash prelims, Ta'Mijha Nichols won her heat in 7.51 to automatically qualify. Hayse advanced with a 7.58, and Isabella Garcia secured a finals berth with a 7.69.
Hayse doubled back in the 200-meter prelims, qualifying for the final with a 24.25. Neudinger also advanced in the event with a 24.73. In the 400 meters, Kereser Augustin turned in a 54.75 to qualify for the final.
In the 600-yard run, Isabella Garcia posted a 1:23.70 to earn a spot in the final, while Lexie Fontaine advanced in the 800 meters with a 2:15.47.
Naiur Rigo-Krein (9.13), Kynleigh Chard (9.21) and Vera Gerasimova (9.53) competed in the 60-meter hurdles prelims.
The Ichabods are in third place overall with 33 points trailing Missouri Southern with 34. Pittsburg State leads the event with 98 team points.
