BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- The Washburn Ichabod men's golf team fell to 9th place after the second round at the Stack Cougar-Burro Collegiate on Monday, posting a team score of 17-over 305. The Ichabods will conclude action with the final round from Verrado Golf Club on Tuesday.
Marco Anderson continued to lead the Ichabods, posting a 1-over 73 to move up into a tie for 10th place. Anderson made four birdies on the day, with three of them coming on the back nine as the junior finished with a 1-under 35 after the turn.
Blake Saffell matched his first-round score by putting up a 2-over 74 in the second round. Saffell, who sits in a tie for 20th, made three birdies in the round, with two of them coming on par-5s.
James Hill finished the day in a tie for 45th place after a 5-over 77. Hill birdied both par-5s on the front nine, posting a 1-over 37 on his first nine holes.
Zach Vandervoort sits in a tie for 58th after a 9-over 81. Vandervoort opened his day with a birdie at the par-4, 423-yard first hole.
Lane Workman enters the final round in a tie for 71st after a 9-over 81. Workman birdied the par-3, 184-yard 14th hole on his way to a 2-over 38 on the back nine.
Playing as an individual, Quinn Earwood sits in a tie for 35th after posting a 5-over 77. Earwood opened the back nine with a birdie at the par-5, 515-yard 10th hole.
As a team, the Ichabods sit one stroke behind 8th-place Stanislaus State while leading 10th-place Hawaii Pacific by two strokes. Top-ranked Colorado Christian continues to dominate the event, holding a 28-stroke lead over Westminster and Western Washington.
