KEARNEY, Neb. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's golf team earned a tie for 5th in its debut performance at the MIAA Golf Championships, taking advantage of a tournament-best team score of 309 in the final round at Meadowlark Hills Golf Club on Tuesday. The Ichabods will take a couple of weeks off before heading to Edmond, Okla. for the NCAA Central Regional Championships from May 5-7.Â
Susana Granados Carrion finished in a tie for 4th place after firing a 2-over 73, the best round posted by an Ichabod in the tournament. Granados Carrion made two birdies in the round, opening her day with a birdie at the par-4, 329-yard 1st hole.Â
Aliyah North finished in 42nd place following her tournament-best round, a 6-over 77. North made back-to-back birdies at the 13th and 14th holes, both par-4s.Â
Allie Sullivan closed the tournament in a tie for 28th place after a 7-over 78. Sullivan made birdie at the par-3, 125-yard 15th hole.Â
Keira Ronsick joined Sullivan in a tie for 28th after a final-round 81. Ronsick tied for 18th in the field in par-3 scoring average at 3.42.Â
Angelina Borg-Malec finished in a tie for 31st place after a round of 84. Following a double bogey on her first hole, Borg-Malec recovered with a birdie at the par-5, 450-yard 2nd hole.Â
Playing as an individual, Lois Deeter finished in 61st place after a round of 88. Deeter began her day with three consecutive pars.Â
Washburn and Missouri Southern shared 5th place with team scores of 949 across the three rounds, finishing one stroke behind 4th-place Central Oklahoma.Â
Central Missouri won the team title with a three-day score of 916, 22 strokes lower than 2nd-place Northwest Missouri. Sam Maceli of Northeastern State claimed the individual title with a score of 229 for the tournament.Â
