GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Washburn senior pitcher Caden Bressler was named to the 2025 ABCA Central Region All-Defensive team announced on Thursday morning by the organization. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Bressler earns the honor after being named to the MIAA Gold Glove team as the only pitcher in the conference. He is the lone hurler to be tabbed as the region's representative as well. On the year the right-hander did not commit an error while making 17 assists and two putouts on the mound. He was part of one double play as well.
He tossed 62.1 innings in 16 appearances for a 4.62 ERA and 3-3 record while maintaining a perfect fielding percentage.
After earning a spot on the Central Region All-Defensive team, Bressler becomes the second Ichabod to earn the honor after Connor Scott was tabbed as an outfielder in 2024.
Players selected to the ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams were eligible for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors. The 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners in all divisions were announced Wednesday, June 18.
