Ichabod baseball has five named to CSC Academic All-District Teams

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn baseball had five student-athletes recognized on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams released by the organization on Tuesday morning. Cash Jay, Cooper Carlgren, Jackson Mervosh, Easton Bruce and Griffin Huiatt were selected to the team.  

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. Freshmen are not eligible to be selected for the team while as of the 2023-24 season transfers in their first year are eligible.    

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 1, 2025. 

For the Ichabods, Jackson Mervosh was selected for consideration to the CSC Academic All-American ballot.   

Each of Carlgren, Huiatt and Jay are repeat selections from a season ago. While Bruce earns his second honor after being named to the team in 2023. Mervosh is tabbed to his first team at the DII level after his junior season.  

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
