TULSA, OKLA. - Washburn Men's Golf completed 36 holes Monday at the NSU Men's Classic.
"We got off to a great start in round 1 and fought hard in round 2 to stay in the mix. A course like this one, you will have to make birdies and take advantage of the par 5s. It will be good to see this young group in the mix for the final round tomorrow," said Head Coach
Ronnie McHenry.
Jake Kolich led the way in both rounds for the Ichabods. The freshman is playing as an individual this week and shot a 67 in both rounds today. Kolich recorded 10 birdies on the day and an eagle in the first round. He sits T-5th going into the final round.
Jacob Fratzel also sits inside the top 15. Fratzel shot a team low 66 on the day, back in the morning session, and shot one over par in the second round.
Junior Zach Haydamack also shot a 67 in round 2 with teammate Kolich, in which the Canadian had six birdies; he sits one over par for the tournament.
The Ichabods recorded 47 birdies and two eagles over the two rounds on Monday. The team also sits in 7th place at 10 under par.
