KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA Conference announced today that Washburn Golfer
Angelina Borg-Malec is the MIAA Women's Golfer of the Week.
"Super happy for Angelina to be rewarded MIAA player of the week! She has been working hard and is a very talented player," said Head Coach
Ronnie McHenry. "I think this will just help her throughout the rest of the spring semester, building momentum into the postseason. She is our first-ever senior, and we want to send her off on a great note!"
Angelina tied for fourth, her best finish in her Washburn career. She shot 1-over par during the three-day event as she shot back-to-back rounds of even par. The second-time in Women's program history that they have had a MIAA Golfer of the Week the first being
Keira Ronsick last season.
With her performance this past week, she moved up 100 spots in the Division 2 individual nationally rankings to #162.
