WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The Washburn Icahbod Men's Golf Team completed day 1 of the Midwestern State Invitational in 5th place.
"Great day for the men as well! Long 36 holes against some really good National level teams and hanging in there heading into the final round," said Head Coach
Ronnie McHenry. " All the guys contributed and will take another good day from them tomorrow. They looked to be more comfortable during tournament play."
Washburn sits in a tie for 5th after Rounds 1 & 2, with a team score of +12; they trail the leaders, UT Permian Basin, who are 7-under.
Marco Anderson leads the Ichabods and sits tied for 12th at 1-over par after day 1. He shot a 70(-1) and a 73(+2).
Myles Tarvin &
Jacob Fratzel are both tied for 21st at 3-over.
Brody Scafe, who is in his first tournament with the Ichabods, is tied with fellow teammate
Blake Buessing for 57th.
Playing as an individual this week in Texas,
Jake Kolich sits in 83rd.
The Final Round will start at 8:30 AM CT.
