MAYETTA, Kan. - The Ichabod Women's Golf Team sits in the lead after Day 1 of the Women's Firekeeper Open.
"Great day for the ladies, cold conditions, and fought hard all day for 36 holes! We are where we want to be, and that is with the target on our back tomorrow, leading the tournament," said Washburn Head Coach
Ronnie McHenry. " I told them that I'm proud and don't care about the outcome, but it will be an important day to get us ready for post season to play with that type of pressure. Whole group effort today and will need the same tomorrow."
Washburn led the tournament after 36 holes played on day 1; the Ichabods are +31 as a team with 18 holes to play.
Susana Granados Carrion is in a tie for 3rd place after she shot a 76 and 72 in rounds 1 & 2.
Angelina Borg-Malec &
Keira Ronsick both are in a tie for 5th at 6-over.
Raegan Petersen is in 24th after being 15-over after day 1.
Aliyah North,
Allie Sullivan, and
Lois Deeter are 52nd, 57th, and 59th, respectively.
The Firekeeper Open's final round will start at 9 AM CT.
