Washburn Sits Second Heading Into Final Round in Pittsburg

3/30/2026 9:06:00 PM

PITTSBURG, Kan. - The Washburn Men's Golf Team sits in second after day 1 of the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational.

Proud of how the guys battled today in some tough, windy conditions," said Director of Golf Ronnie McHenry. "We put ourselves in a good position heading into the final round. Myles had a really solid afternoon, and we had multiple guys contribute. If we stay patient, clean up a few mistakes, and play smart, we'll give ourselves a chance to chase down a really strong Central Oklahoma team tomorrow."

Washburn is four shots off the tournament leaders, Central Oklahoma, who are #7 in the country.

The Ichabods are 25-over through 36 holes after shooting 15-over in round 1 & 10-over in round 2 on a windy day in Pittsburg.

Myles Tarvin is tied for second at +4 and sits 2 shots back of first. He shot a round two score of 71(-1) that included four birdies.

Redshirt Freshman Brody Scafe is tied in fourth place at 5-over.

Jacob Fratzel & Marco Anderson both sit inside the top-20 heading into the final round.

Blake Buessing is tied for 45th after 36-holes.

Jake Kolich is playing as an individual this week is 11-over par and is tied for 31st.

The Final Round will kick off tomorrow morning, with tee times are TBD.
