4/20/2026 11:01:00 AM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA announced Monday that Ichabods Jacob Fratzel & Myles Tarvin were named to the All-MIAA First Team, Fratzel was also named the MIAA Freshman of the Year.

"I'm pumped for 2 new Kansas kids to get the awards they deserve," said Ichabod Head Coach Ronnie McHenry. "This group has been great and will continue to do great things for our program!"

Jacob Fratzel was named MIAA Freshman of the Year & All-MIAA Team after he had six top-10 finishes, including a 6th-place finish last week at the MIAA Championships. Fratzel has a 84% win percentage in his freshman season.

"Jacob Fratzel has been big time for a Freshman all year, and to win Freshman of the Year and all MIAA is not easy to do in this league," said Head Coach McHenry. "He works his butt off and will keep doing great things here at Washburn! 6 top 10 finishes in 10 tournaments is unheard of for a young kid. I know he will keep increasing his goals and aspirations, and I will do my best to help lead him to those!"

Myles Tarvin, who is in his first season with the Ichbaods after transferring in from Kansas City, was also named All-MIAA Team. This season, Tarvin has two top-5 finishes and has a win percentage of 80%; his best finish on the year is a 2nd-place finish at the Men's Firekeeper Open.

"Myles Tarvin earning all MIAA after transferring in this year is awesome for him," said Ronnie McHenry. "As just a sophomore, I know this will help feed his confidence for more success the next couple of years. He has been big for us, especially this spring semester."

The Washburn Men's Golf Team will find out if it will make the NCAA Midwest/Central Regional next week. Updates can be found on the Twitter/X account @IchabodGolf.
