5/2/2026 4:10:00 PM

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. Saajida Razick of Washburn University was named the Athletic Solutions "A Game" Scholar-Athlete of the 2026 MIAA Women's Tennis Championship.

The top six MIAA women's teams from the regular season met in Springfield, Mo., this week for the Association's postseason tennis championship, hosted May 1-3 at the Cooper Tennis Complex. Among the many NCAA Division II women's tennis players competing in the championship, Washburn's Saajida Razick was selected as the championship's "A Game" Scholar-Athlete for her performances on and off the court.

Established by the MIAA in 2022, "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award presented by Athletic Solutions acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team's success while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.

Razick is a sophomore from Dehiwala, Sri Lanka, on the Ichabods women's tennis team. She has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average with 42 completed credits as a psychology major.

On the court, Razick was named a Second Team All-MIAA Singles selection and a First Team All-MIAA Doubles selection with teammate Jasel Bailey in the 2026 season. She finished the regular season with a 7-1 singles record and an 8-1 doubles record against MIAA opponents. Razick is 12-3 overall in singles competition this season, mostly playing at the No. 3, 4 and 5 positions, and owns a 14-4 overall doubles record, playing mostly at the No. 1 slot. She and Jasel Bailey enter the 2026 postseason tournament as the No. 40-ranked doubles duo in Division II.

Razick is the seventh student-athlete from Washburn to earn the "A Game" Scholar-Athlete honor and the second Ichabod women's tennis player to earn the award. To view past "A Game" Scholar-Athlete award winners and find more information about the award, visit theMIAA.com/scholar-athletes.

With the win, the Ichabods advance to the MIAA championship match, scheduled for 10 am on Sunday, May 3, at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
