ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Washburn Women's Golf Team is tied for 3rd after Day 1 of the NCAA DII Women's Central Regional.
"Ladies were solid today! First round of a big tournament is testing the waters and not shooting yourself out of it," said Ichabod Head Coach
Ronnie McHenry. "We just need to keep playing the way we have all semester and see where we are at on the back nine on Wednesday. A lot of tough golf left, but we are in a good spot."
Washburn is tied for third with MIAA foe Nebraska-Kearney at 22-over par and only one shot back of the leaders, Rogers State & Henderson State.
Susana Granados Carrion is tied for the lead after she shot an opening round 74(+2).
Senior
Angelina Borg-Malec is also in the top-10 after round 1, she sits tied for 10th after shooting 76(+4).
Raegan Petersen &
Keira Ronsick are both tied for 36th after shooting opening rounds of 80(+8).
Aliyah North wraps up the Ichabod lineup with an 81(+9) and sits tied for 45th heading into day 2.
The Ichabods will tee off round 2 tomorrow at 11:20 AM CT.
