BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Ichabod Men's Golf Team sits tied for 7th after day 1 of the NCAA DII Central/Midwest Regional.
"Guys hung in there today! Day 1 of a big tournament is to keep yourself in the mix, and they did that," said Washburn Head Coach
Ronnie McHenry. "Tomorrow will be another challenge, and I think they are up for that and will be ready to go!"
Washburn shot 7-over par after the opening 18 holes; they are tied with Tiffin for seventh. The Ichabods had 18 birdies & 2 eagles on day 1.
Myles Tarvin shot even par and is tied for 13th after Round 1; he had four birdies on the day.
Blake Buessing shot an opening round 73(+1), which included an eagle at the ninth, and he sits tied for 21st.
Marco Anderson is tied for 30th after shooting a 74(+2). He had four birdies on the front 9.
Freshman
Jacob Fratzel &
Jake Kolich are both tied for 51st, both shooting 76s(+4).
The Ichabods will tee off in Round 2 tomorrow at 10:40 AM CT.
