The Washburn Ichabods, who open the 2008 season on Thursday night in Yager Stadium at 7 p.m. against the Colorado School of Mines, were picked No. 22 in the D2football.com preseason top 25 media poll.
The Ichabods joined Northwest Missouri at No. 4, Nebraska-Omaha at No. 7 and Pittsburg State at No. 17 as the only MIAA schools in the preseason rankings. The Ichabods also recived votes in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 Preseason Poll coming in at No. 30 overall.
