For the seventh straight game the Ichabods found themselves in a close contest but this time they finished strong for a 59-50 win over Truman Saturday in Lee Arena. Grant Hargett scored all 17 of his season-high points in the second half and eight in the final five minutes as the Ichabods improved to 11-4 and 3-3 in the MIAA. Washburn will return to the road for a 7:30 p.m. game at Southwest Baptist Tuesday.

Washburn led by four with 42 seconds left when Kyle Snyder charged into the lane and grabbed a defensive rebound. On Washburn's possession Andrew Meile was fouled and made one of two free throws to give the Ichabods a five-point lead.

The Bulldogs got the ball in but Hargett swiped it away and was fouled with 19 seconds left. He made both free throws and then after a missed 3-pointer from TSU, Hargett iced the game with two more free throws.

Sisk also reached double figures in scoring with 11 points off 5 of 8 shooting and Kyle Snyder had his fifth double-digit rebound game with 11 boards.

The Bulldogs pushed the lead to four points before Mario Scott's basket cut it to one with 37 seconds left. Neither team scored after that and Truman went into the locker room with a narrow 25-24 lead.

Sisk scored on Washburn's first possession of the second half and the Ichabods led until 12:55 when Banks Estridge tied the score at 35-35 on a 3-pointer. The Bulldogs built the lead as high as five and held it until Hargett hit a 3-pointer at 6:09.
