Ichabods hold off 17th-ranked UCO in overtime
December 4, 2007
James Williams' three-point play late in the second half sent the game against Central Oklahoma into overtime and then he hit a pair of free throws late in the extra period to help Washburn to a 71-68 win over the 17th-ranked Bronchos in Lee Arena.

Williams led the 'Bods, winners of five straight, with 17 points after scoring just three in a sloppy first half. Washburn (5-1) missed its first 11 3-pointers in the game before Kyle Snyder hit one at the 2:48 mark of the first half. Snyder finished 4 of 6 from the field for 11 points and had 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the year and third of his career. Down by three in the final minute-plus, Williams got his own rebound on a missed 3-pointer. He made a lay-up and then converted a three-point play on a free throw to tie the score at 57-57 with 1:15 left. Down by two with 1:09 left in the extra period, Williams hit another 3 to give Washburn a 66-65 lead. Mario Scott then swiped the ball from UCO and took it to the other end of the court for a lay-up as he drew a foul. He converted the free throw for a four-point lead. The Bronchos answered back with a 3-pointer from Eric Cazenave but two free throws by Williams gave the Ichabods a three-point lead with 20 seconds remaining.
