Ichabods hold off Truman for MIAA road win
February 16, 2008
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Brady Sisk led three Ichabods in double figures as Washburn held on for a 61-54 win at Truman. The Ichabods were led in scoring by bench players Sisk with 13 and Mario Scott with 12. Starter Darnell Kimble had 11 and Kyle Snyder led the Ichabods with 10 rebounds.

Both teams struggled from the floor throughout the game. The Ichabods ended the game shooting 38 percent while TSU finished at 34 percent. Washburn led the rebound battle 43-36 and had seven steals while Truman committed 11 turnovers.

After early lead changes, Truman had a 16-11 lead before Washburn went on a 9-0 run to take its first lead. A steal from Grant Hargett and then a lay-up on the other end gave the Ichabods their first and only lead of the night as they held it throughout. They led by 10 at halftime, 32-22, and had an 18-point lead with 7:40 left. The Bulldogs cut the lead to seven with 2:02 remaining and then again with a meaningless 3-pointer with five seconds remaining.

Hargett led the offense with five assists while James Williams and Paul Byers each had a pair of steals. Byers added nine points. The win guaranteed Washburn its first winning season since 2004-05.
