The Washburn Ichabods (13-9, 9-6 MIAA) travel to Warrensburg, Mo., to take on the No. 12 ranked Central Missouri Mules on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The Ichabods had their three-game winning streak snapped in a 68-60 loss at Fort Hays State. The Ichabods are also looking to strengthen their position in the MIAA postseason tournament as they enter the game in a tie for fourth place. The Mules are in a tie for first place with Southwest Baptist and are coming off an 82-58 win at Emporia State on Feb. 4. The Mules have won their last six games and they are also one of nine schools in the nation to win at least their last 13 in a row at home.

Washburn took an eight-point lead in the second half after a tied halftime score but the Ichabods couldn't hold on as they fell, 73-64 to Central Missouri Saturday at Lee Arena.
DeAndre Eggins led the Ichabods with 18 points as he was 6 of 12 from the field with three 3-pointers. Lekheyhtan Malone scored 13 points off the bench and
Paul Byers scored 10 points and tied
Mario Scott for the team lead with seven rebounds.
Washburn shot 40 percent in the game and UCM (10-2, 3-2 MIAA) shot 42 percent. WU was out-rebounded 42-38.
Each team shot 16 free throws and UCM made 12 and WU made 10. The Ichabods were 6 of 19 from 3-point range while UCM was 5 of 18.
After a 32-32 score at halftime the Ichabods built an eight-point lead in the first eight minutes of the half. The Mules erased that lead with a 13-2 run that made the score 52-49, UCM.
Washburn led briefly after that and kept the game close until the Mules made 9 of 9 shots from the free throw line in the final 54 seconds to pull away. Scott led WU with four assists and two steals and Eggins had two of WU's six blocks.
Joe Young led the Mules with 24 points off the bench and he made seven of UCM's final nine free throws.

• This is the 84th meeting in school history and the UCM leads the all-time series 42-41.
• The Ichabods won two of the three games last year. Each team won its home game in the regular season and then Washburn defeated UCM in the MIAA quarterfinal. Last year was just the third time the two MIAA regular season games were split between the two.

HAYS, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods had their three-game winning streak snapped and Fort Hays State won their seventh in a row in a 68-60 loss in Gross Memorial Coliseum. The Ichabods (13-9, 9-6 MIAA) trailed by five at 36-31 in the second half, but rebounded to knot the score at 36. A missed jumper by the Ichabods and a 3-pointer by the Tigers (16-5, 9-5 MIAA) pushed the lead to three at 39-36. Following a bucket by
Darnell Kimble, the Tigers hit a jumper and a 3-pointer to push the lead to 44-38 with 11:23 to go.
The Ichabods pulled back within 47-43 following a free throw by
Logan Stutz with 7:46 remaining, but a putback by Terry Jeffries stretched the lead back to six at 49-43 with 5:59 remaining.The Tigers hit a jumper and
Logan Stutz picked up a traditional 3-point play cutting the lead to five at 51-46 with 5:26 left in the game. Fort Hays State's Corbin Kuntzsch hit one of his three second half 3-pointers giving the Tigers a 54-46 lead with 5:05 left to play. On the Tigers' next possession, he would hit another one from 3-point range making the score 57-46 with 4:23 remaining. The Ichabods would get no closer than four the rest of the way when
DeAndre Eggins scored on a lay up with 1:08 to play cutting the Tigers lead to 61-57.
Washburn trailed 29-25 at the break after
Paul Byers picked a rebound of a 3-point attempt at the end of the half and hit a 15-foot jumper right before the half. Byers finished the half with seven points. The Ichabods shot 35 percent from the field while the Tigers were 13 of 32 for 41 percent. The Ichabods did commit eight turnovers leading to seven first half points for the Tigers.
Washburn was led by Eggins who scored 15 points. Williams scored 10 points for the Ichabods and Stutz and Byers each had nine. Kuntzsch had 23 to lead the Tigers while hitting all four 3-point attempts.
The Tigers held a slim 40 to 38 advantage on the glass.
The Ichabods were held to 36 percent shooting in the game hitting 21 of 58 from the field. Washburn finished with 13 turnovers leading to 13 points for the Tigers.
Ichabods continue stellar play in Lee Arena
The Ichabods started the year 6-0 at home and have since gone 4-1 for an 10-1 record at home. Washburn is out-scoring opponents by an average of 83 to 70 in Lee Arena. The Ichabods shoot 48 percent at home compared to 40 percent in away games.
Washburn unbeaten in midweek MIAA games
The Ichabods are 6-0 in midweek MIAA games this year with all the contests happening on Wednesdays. They are 5-0 in Lee Arena and their win Wednesday at NWMSU was their first midweek road trip in the MIAA. Washburn is balanced in the five games with six players averaging 8.0 points or more.
DeAndre Eggins leads with 13.6 a game and overall, Washburn scores 81.0 while opponents score 71.8 a game. WU shoots 49 percent in midweek MIAA games.
