BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods finished second at the NSU Golf Classic at Emerald Falls Golf Club.
Trey Siegel led the Ichabods tying for third place after firing a second round, 2-over 74 to finish with a 1-over 145 after a first round 71.
Nathan Hoefflin tied for eighth after recording a 4-over 76 for a two-day total of 3-over 147 after carding a 1-under 71 in the first round.
Ronnie McHenry finished in a tie for 21st with a 7-over 151 after score of 75 and 76.
Sam Schulte and
Tyler Wright placed in a tie for 29th after a 9-over 153. Schulte had rounds of 76 and 77 and Wright had rounds of 78 and 75.
Kurt Walker finished in a tie for 71st with a two-day total of 162 after scores of 80 and 82 playing as an individual.
Southwestern Oklahoma rallied from a 1-shot deficit after the frist round to shoot a 295 on the second day to finish five shots better than the Ichabods to take the tournament title.
Washburn's second round was a 301 to finish with a team score of 594 for 36 holes. They finished three shots better than Newman and four shots ahead of Central Missouri.
Myles Miller of Newman won the tournament with a 3-under 141.
The Ichabods will return to action with an MIAA-points event at Lindenwood Oct. 1-2.
