  Opening Tip
• The Washburn Ichabods will continue their five-game homestand hosting Rockhurst on Nov. 21 on Schendel Court at Lee Arena.
• Washburn is 4-0 this season after reaching the century mark last time out in a 107-81 win over Kansas Wesleyan.

Rockhurst head basketball coach Bill O'Connor
• is 260-279 in his 20th season at Rockhurst. He has been coaching basketball on the high school, junior college and college level for the past 39 years.
• O'Connor is the winningest coach in the history of Rockhurst basketball with 260 victories. Eight of his teams have qualified for postseason play, while 11 of his teams at Rockhurst have won 15 or more games in a season.
• A graduate of Rockhurst High School, O'Connor received a B.S. in history from St. Benedict's College (now Benedictine College) in 1972. He earned his master's in education from Emporia State University.
• Before being named the head coach at Rockhurst in 1994, O'Connor was the head coach at Colby (Kan.) Community College. He was an assistant coach at Rockhurst from 1982-86 and coached at Texas-Pan American.

 Last Time Out For The Ichabods
Washburn 107, Kansas Wesleyan 81 • Nov. 18, 2013
TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods improved to 64-4 overall and 43-1 in home games when they reach at least 100 points after a 107-81 win over Kansas Wesleyan on Monday night on Schendel Court at Lee Arena. 
The Coyotes led by as many as six in the openings minutes as Joey Long hit back to back 3-pointers staking KWU to a 6-0 in the first 46 seconds of the game. The two teams traded leads seven times in the first half and it was not until a mini 9-0 run over a 2:07 period by the Ichabods which stretched the lead to eight at 44-36 with 6:04 to play in the half.
The Coyotes cut the lead back to seven with 3:23 to play in the opening stanza but the ichabods used a 12-5 run over the final 1:48 of the half to take a 62-47 lead into the break.
Washburn shot 58 percent from the field in the opening half hitting 22 of 38 shots while the Coyotes were also near the 50 percent mark hitting 15 of 31 shots for a 48 percent clip.
In the second half the Coyotes cut the lead to 10 at 64-54 with 17:37 to play but they would get no closer as the Ichabods stretched the lead to as many as 27 taking the 107-81 victory reach the 100-point mark for the first time since a 107-69 win over Lincoln on Feb. 25, 2012.
Kyle Wiggins scored 14 of his game-high 18 points in the first half hitting 7 of 13 shots leading five Ichabods in double figures. Stephon Drane scored 16 going 6 of 9 from the field while Christian Ulsaker recorded 14, Alex North had 13 points with a team-high-tying six rebounds and seven assists. Jeff Reid scored 11 points. Ulsaker hit 9 of 10 from the free throw line as the Ichabods were 22 of 31 from the line in the game. The Coyotes were 24 of 30 overall from the stripe.
Jacob Lunz scored 15 to lead the Coyotes.
Washburn finished at 54 percent from the field cooling off to 49 percent from the field in the second half. The Ichabods were 38 of 71 overall while holding the Coyotes to 9 of 30 shooting in the second half ending the game with a 39 percent average hitting 24 of 61 shots.
Both teams finished with 40 rebounds with 15 offensive rebounds and 25 defensive rebounds. Washburn held a second chance points advantage of 20 to 13 while turning 20 Coyote turnovers into 33 Ichabod points.

 About Rockhurst
• Rockhurst is a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference and enters Thursday's game at Washburn riding two-game winning streak.
• They return all five starters and nine letterwinners off of last season's team which finished 4-21.
• Rockhurst lost to Loyola-Chicago last time out 83-65 in an exhibition game. 
• In their two victories, the Hawks are averaging 92.0 points per game, thanks in large part to senior guard Brandon McCann, who is putting up 26.0 ppg during the winning streak. 
• For the year, McCann paces Rockhurst with 20.0 ppg and is shooting a 52 percent (11-for-21) from three-point territory. 
• Forward Russell Burns (10.0 ppg), is scoring in double figures, and he also leads the club in rebounding with 5.7 rpg. 
• Rockhurst redshirt freshman Matt Hutchinson is a Topeka native and his father Doug was an assistant coach on the Ichabods' 1987 NAIA National Championship basketball team spending five season on the Washburn bench overall.

 Series History With Rockhurst
• Thursday's meeting will be the 55th in the all-time series and the first meeting since Dec. 5, 2004 when the Hawks won 84-83.
• Washburn leads the all-time series 29-26.
• Washburn has won 12 of the last 14 meetings.

 Last Time Out For Rockhurst
Milton Doyle scored a season-high 24 points as Loyola Chicago earned an 83-65 victory over Rockhurst Tuesday night at Loyola's Gentile Arena. 
The win improved Loyola's record to 2-2. Rockhurst's record stays at 2-1 since the game counted as an exhibition game for the Hawks.
Rockhurst rallied from a 26-9 deficit to pull without 41-30 at halftime. The Hawks got within 10 points, 47-37, with 15:57 remaining in the game. A bucket by Nick Osborne sparked a 9-2 Loyola run that extended the lead to 56-39.
The Hawks were led by Brandon McCann's 15 points on six-of-13 shooting. He canned three-of-six three-point shots. Russell Burns hit four-of-six shots to finish with 10 points. Liam Duffy added nine points on three three-pointers.

 Last Meeting With Rockhurst
Nov. 20, 2012 -- KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The No. 2-ranked Washburn Ichabods led from start to finish for the third-straight game picking up 74-56 win over Rockhurst in the Sprint Center in Kansas City. 
Both team shot over 46 percent in the first half as the Ichabods hit 14 of 30 shots from the field compared to 9 of 19 by the Hawks but the Ichabods forced Rockhurst into 15 first half turnovers leading to 20 points. Washburn also had a 20 to 13 advantage on the glass including 11 offensive rebounds.
The Ichabods led by five at 26-21 with 3:47 to play in the opening stanza, but Washburn finished the half on a 14-2 run taking a 40-23 lead into the break.
In the second half the Ichabods led the Hawks by no less than 15 points and would lead by as many as 24 before taking the 18-point win.
Will McNeill led the Ichabods with 21 points going 8 of 12 from the field with seven rebounds and four steals. Kyle Wiggins scored 15 making his first start of the season and Christian Ulsaker scored 10 points off the bench. Bobby Chipman led the Ichabods with eight rebounds adding eight points.
James Robinson scored 12 points to lead Rockhurst.
The Hawks outshot the Ichabods from the field finishing 22 of 45 at 49 percent while the Ichabods were 26 of 57 for a 46 percent average. Washburn did force the Hawks into 23 turnovers leading to 25 Ichabod points. Washburn finished with a 36 to 29 advantage in rebounds collecting 17 offensive rebounds.

 Ichabods in the national rankings
The Ichabods did not receive any votes in the preseason NABC Top 25 coaches poll which was released on Nov. 11. The Ichabods have been in the top 25 a total of 98 times since joining the NCAA ranks and they have been voted in the top 10 a total of 51 times since the 1989-90 season.

• The Ichabods are 1454-975-4 (.591) all-time in the 109th year in the program's history.
• Washburn is the eighth-winningest program in NCAA Division II history by victories.
