  Opening Tip
The Washburn Ichabods will continue their two-game roadtrip to start the second semester as they travel to Warrensburg on Monday to face Central Missouri.
Washburn is 11-1 overall and 4-1 in MIAA play coming off an 79-69 at Missouri Western on Saturday.
Central Missouri, like Washburn, received votes in the latest NABC top 25 poll and enters the game with an 11-2 record going 3-1 in the MIAA after beating Nebraska-Kearney 85-65.

 Bod Notes
The Washburn Ichabods have won 510 games since becoming a member of the NCAA Division II ranks prior to the start of the 1989-89 season - which is the most by any member of the MIAA during that stretch.
The 11-1 start by the Ichabods is the best by a Washburn team since the 2003-04 team who started 16-0 en route to a 27-5 season winning the MIAA regular season championship.
The Ichabods have scored 505 points in the first half and 504 points in the second half of games this season.
Ichabod junior Christian Ulsaker will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a broken bone in his shooting hand in practice. He was averaging career-bests of 13.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg. He will apply for a medical redshirt as he played in only four games.

 Last Time Out For The Ichabods

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The lone Ichabod senior Leon Flowers scored a career-high 26 points with 24 coming in the second half as Washburn topped Missouri Western 79-69 improving to 11-1 and 4-1 overall as the Ichabods won their third straight game in St. Joseph. After the Ichabods had a 29-22 lead at the break, the Griffons (6-6, 1-3 MIAA) cut into the lead and would take the lead at 35-34 after back to back to back 3-pointers by the Griffons, Flower put the Ichabods on his back and scored 13 of Washburn's next 15 points as the Ichabods pushed the lead back to 10 at 46-36 with 13:47 remaining. 
When the Griffons pulled back within six at 46-40 with 12:42 to play, Flowers hit another three to push the margin back to nine. With the Ichabods holding a six-point lead, Flowers connected on another 3-pointer pushing the margin back to nine.
Three times the Griffons would cut the lead back to four and the Ichabods answered. The final time was with 3:48 to play with the Ichabods holding a 62-58 lead and Flowers scored the Ichabods' next five points pushing the difference back to nine and Missori Western would get no closer than seven the rest of the way.
Flowers finished with 26 points on 9 of 12 shooting including a 5 of 6 3-point shooting and 3 of 3 from the free throw line while Kyle Wiggins scored 16 points and Alex North tallied 11 points. Jeff Reid recorded a career-high 11 rebounds with eight on the offensive end adding seven points. 
Ryan Devers scored 25 to lead the Griffons.
Washburn held a 39 to 25 advantage on the glass turning 12 offensive rebounds into 15 second chance points.
The Ichabods finished 27 of 55 from the field for a 49 percent average while the Griffons shot 54 percent in the second half enroute to a 46 percent shooting night.

 Missouri Western Leftovers
The Ichabods improved to 49-35 all-time against the Griffons.
It was the third-straight win over the Griffons.
Washburn improved to 20-22 in games played in St. Joseph against the Griffons.
Leon Flowers set career highs in points (26), field goals made (9), field goal attempts (12), 3-point field goals made (5) and 3-point field goal attempts (6) against the Griffons.
Kyle Wiggins' eight free throws made was a career high.
 About Central Missouri
The Mules enter the game with a 11-2 record and a 3-1 MIAA mark after topping Nebraska-Kearney 85-65 on Saturday.
Dillon Deck is averaging 13.1 ppg to lead the Mules. He is pacing three Mules in double figures followed by Daylen Robinson with 12.0 ppg and Charles Hammork with 11.0 ppg.
The Mules are shooting 49 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range. The Mules have attempted 48 more free throws than their opponents this season.
Central Missouri is +7.7 in rebounding margin this season while averaging 81.7 ppg while allowing 68.2 ppg.
The Mules were 22-8 a season ago, the sixth 20-win season under Kim Anderson and the 22nd in school history.
Last season was the 10th straight season of at least 18 wins for UCM, the longest active streak in the MIAA. The longest streak in league history is 11 seasons, held by Northwest Missouri from 1997-2008.
Central Missouri finished 13-5 in MIAA play last year and captured a share of the MIAA regular season championship for the second straight season. It was the fifth conference crown under Anderson and 23rd in school history.
UCM returns one all-MIAA performer from a season ago. Charles Hammork was an honorable mention All-MIAA pick last season after averaging 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. He was also an MIAA Tournament All-Tournament Team selection in helping the Mules to the conference tournament title.

 Series History With Central Missouri
Monday's meeting will be the 94th between these two teams 
UCM leads the all-time series 47-46. 
Washburn is 19-7 against UCM in Lee Arena and 22-20 in all-time MIAA games. 
In road MIAA games played in Warrensburg, the Ichabods are 8-13 after snapping an eight-game losing streak in the win on New Year's Eve during the 2011-12 season.
The Ichabods have won the last two in the series and five of the last six. 
The last time the teams met in the conference tournament was during the 2010 season when the Ichabods as the No. 8 seed topped the No. 1-seeded Mules 79-60.
The Ichabods are 5-1 all-time against Central Missouri in the MIAA Tournament. 

Last Time Out for Central Missouri
Jan. 4, 2014 -- WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules used a 26-5 run in the second half to pull away from Nebraska-Kearney for an 85-65 win on Saturday afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The win improves UCM's record to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in MIAA play.
The game was a back-and-forth battle in the first half with neither team able to seize control. After a three by UNK (4-6, 2-3 MIAA) to open the game UCM scored six straight to grab the early lead.
The Mules upped the lead to six at 15-9 on a three from Jon Gilliam with just under 14 minutes to play in the half, but a 7-0 run by the Lopers gave them a 16-15 lead just two minutes later. UCM came back with five straight points of their own to regain the lead.
Central Missouri pushed the lead to six a couple of different times during the first half, but UNK responded each time. The Mules led 34-28 with 2:35 left in the half following a TJ White tip-in, but UNK closed the opening period on a 9-4 spurt to pull within 38-37 at halftime.
Nebraska-Kearney grabbed the lead right out of intermission on a three by Tyler Shields, but Dillon Deck's three-point play gave the lead back to UCM and Charles Hammork's driving layup pushed the lead to three with 18:13 to play.
A pair of free throws from Kevin Dineen cut the UCM lead to one, but back to back jumpers from Hammork pushed the lead back to five at 47-42. Mike Dentlinger's three-point play at the 15:30 mark pulled UNK with a bucket, but that's when the Mules made their run.
Back-to-back threes by Daylen Robinson, including a four-point play on the second ignited the run that saw the Mules score 26 of the next 31 points to open a 73-50 lead with 8:11 to play in the game. The lead didnt' dip below 19 points the rest of the way as UCM improved to 6-0 at home this season and ran their home court winning streak to 20.
Robinson led UCM with a game and career-high 26 points. He also had seven assists, four steals and four rebounds. White finished with 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench, while Gilliam and Hammork each chipped in 12.
The Mules were 27 of 56 from the field for 48 percent and made 7 of 16 from behind the three point line for 43 percent. UCM was 24 of 32 at the foul line for 75 percent.
Central Missouri held a slight edge in rebounding, 34-33, but did force 25 UNK turnovers and had 14 steals.
Ethan Brozak led the Lopers with 15 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Shields had 14 points. UNK was 23 of 55 from the floor for 41 percent, including 6 of 16 from beyond the arc for 37 percent. UNK mad 13 of 18 at the charity stripe for 72 percent.

 Last Meeting With Central Missouri
March 2, 2013 -- TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods scored a season-high 95 points locking up the No. 3 seed in the MIAA Tournament in Kansas City after a 95-78 win over Central Missouri on senior night on Schendel Court at Lee Arena. 
Washburn (19-7, 12-6 MIAA) took a 46-33 lead into the halftime break as Will McNeill ended the half with a 3-pointer from the top of the key giving him 23 points in the frame on 9 of 14 shooting while going 2 of 3 from 3-point range. McNeill would go on to score 40 points tying the most points by an Ichabod in Lee Arena. Dan Buie had 40 vs Emporia State on Feb. 14, 1996. The largest led the Ichabods had in the opening half was 13 points twice while the Mules' largest lead was two five different times.
In the second half, the Ichabods kept the Mules (19-7, 13-5 MIAA) at least a 13-point cushion in the game building a lead of as many as 20 points in the half. 
McNeill  career-high of 40 points in the win over the Mules moving into third place on the all-time Washburn scoring chart passing Ewan Auguste, Harold Brown and Ryan Murphy giving him 1,667 points in his career. Only Tom Meier with 2,082 and Gary Carrier with 2,626 have scored more points in an Ichabod uniform. He became the eighth Ichabod to score at least 40 points in a game. McNeill's previous high was 35, set against Central Missouri set on Feb. 8, 2012. McNeill also added four steals and four rebounds.
Bobby Chipman scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds recording his seventh double double of his career and the fifth of the season. Martin Mitchell had 10 points with five assists and Christian Ulsaker scored 10 points with five rebounds.
Widgett Washington had 21 to lead the Mules.
Washburn shot an even 50 percent from the field hitting 34 of 68 shots after going 19 of 32 from the field in the first half. The Mules were limited to 24 of 64 shooting from the field and 18 of 24 from the free throw line. The Ichabods were 21 of 25 from the free throw line. Washburn turned 10 Mule turnovers into 14 points while committing only five for the game.
 Ichabods in the national rankings
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Ichabods fell out of the rankings after the loss to Missouri Southern but did receive votes in the NABC top 25 coaches poll which was released this week in the Dec. 31 poll.

The Ichabods are 1461-975-4 (.591) all-time in the 109th year in the program's history.
Washburn is the eighth-winningest program in NCAA Division II history by victories.
Washburn is the winningest MIAA program since the 1989-90 season with an overall record of 510-224.
The Ichabods have recorded 25 20-win seasons and they have one 30-win seasons after going 35-4 during the 1986-87 NAIA Championship season.
Washburn has won 21 conference championships including 10 MIAA titles.
