HESSTON, Kan. – The Washburn women's junior varsity team picked up its first win of the season on Thursday evening in a 6-49 win over Hesston College.

The Ichabods took advantage of mistakes by the Larks scoring 16 points off of turnovers. The Washburn bench played a huge role in the win contributing 27 points. Hayley Thompson would take the lead for the Ichabods scoring a team-high 16 points and was complemented by a 14 point effort from Sydney Paialli and 11 points from Madison Vargo.

Washburn will return to action on Nov. 28 when it travels to Highland, Kan. to matchup with Highland Community College.
