11/18/2022 1:41:00 AM

PARSONS, Kan. -- The Ichabod women's JV team lost a road contest against Labette Community College 84-60 on Wednesday evening after a slow start to the second half.

Early on the Cardinals had control of the game offensively, as they were able to double Washburn in the first quarter 22-11. In the next 10 minutes the Ichabods were able to cut into the lead and would go into halftime trailing 41-33.

Out of the break Washburn's offense slowed down as they scored only nine points in the third quarter. The difference would be too much to overcome, and Labette's offense continued to roll on the way to an 84-60 victory.

Bailey Collar led the Ichabods with 19 points as well as five rebounds and three steals. Chloe Carter added 15 points and four assists. Raegan Wells also finished in double figures with 10 points.

Washburn as a team shot only 35.6% from the floor, while the Cardinals shot 44.7% and blistered the nets, shooting 48.0% from deep on 25 attempts.

The Ichabods were outrebounded 54-30 but were able to force Labette into 18 turnovers to negate some of the damage.

The Cardinals were led by Ishuana Hunter who had 21 points and 10 rebounds. Mariah Curley added 16 points and six assists.

Washburn will return to Topeka next Tuesday, Nov. 22 to take on Highland Community College at 5:30 p.m.
