HIGHLAND, Kan --- The Washburn men's junior varsity basketball team struggled offensively in a 96-64 loss to Highland Community College Monday evening.
The Ichabods shot a mere 35 percent in its fifth loss of the season and was led in scoring by
Paul Muzzy and
Tom Huppe who each posted 11 points each.
The Ichabods trailed early after but managed to come within two at the halfway point of the first period. Highland would hold the Ichabods scoreless for a four minute stretch towards the end of the first period and take a 46-28 lead at the break.
The Ichabods offensive woes continued after the break as Highland closed out the contest outscoring Washburn 50-36 in the second period. Washburn falls to 3-6 on the season and the Scotties improve to 11-1.
Washburn returns to action on Thursday Dec. 8 when they travel to Johnson County Community College for a 7 p.m. tip.
