TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn men's basketball junior varsity team dropped to 4-8 on the season after falling behind in the final two minutes of regulation in a 61-49 loss to Fort Scott Community College.

After taking a seven-point lead at the 16 minute mark in the first period, the Greyhounds of Fort Scott Community College would whittle away at the Ichabod lead getting within two at the break. With time waning down and FSCC leading the Ichabods 50-49 with under six minutes to play, a well-timed layup followed by a series of free-throws would help Fort Scott close the door on Washburn. 

Darren Spruill led Washburn with nine points and five rebounds. 

The Ichabods will close out the 2016-17 season with a pair of home contest against Johnson County Community College Jan. 31 and Brown Mackie College Feb. 6
