First serve . . . 
• Washburn women's tennis makes its third appearance in the MIAA tournament under head coach Lance Lysaught with a quarterfinal matchup against third-seeded Central Oklahoma.
•  The Ichabods have posted its best finish under head coach Lance Lysaught after closing out the regular-season at 12-7 and earning a sixth-seed at the MIAA Tournament.
•  Washburn trails the all-time series with UCO 2-7 after falling to the Bronchos in five of its last five meetings
•  The Brochos defeated Washburn earlier this season at hime in a 3-5 decision.
 Racking up Rankings . . . 
• Washburn heads into its third season under head coach Lance Lysaught led by sophomore Madeline Hill who holds the No. 8 spot in the ITA Division II singles rankings.
• Hill leads the team with a 34-2 record in singles and holds the program record for singles-season singles wins. 
• Jacqueline Engelbrecht and Hill have teamed up to post a 26-5 doubles record and are currently ranked 7th nationally.
•  The pair current sits in second-place in the Washburn record books for single season doubles wins.
• To go along with its national rankings, Washburn is tabbed 6th in the central region with Hill leading the way at No. 1 in singles. Engelbrecht and Hill are first in doubles in the region.
The Opps. . .
•  Central Oklahoma is a perfect 13-7 on the season under head coach Jaron Maestas.  
•  UCO heads into the match regionally ranked at No. 4 having won four of its last five matches. 
• The Bronchos head into the MIAA Tournament seeded third. 
Tournament success. . .
•  The Ichabods closed out the 2016 calendar year with each player picking up at least one flight victory in tournament play.
• Three Ichabod netters ended 2016 with a spot in a ITA Central Regional final which was capped off with a singles victory by Madeline Hill. 
 Coaching . . . 
•  Former Ichabod tennis player Lance Lysaught is in his third season at the helm of the Ichabod women's tennis program. He is 35-51 as a women's collegiate head coach in his fifth season and 24-34 at Washburn.
• Washburn added former Washburn men's tennis standout, David Price, as the assistant coach to both the men and women's teams during the offseason.
