Ichabod JV's Offense Shows Out in Win Over Ottawa

Topeka, Kan. – Washburn men's JV basketball light up the scoreboard in a 90-83 victory over the Ottawa Braves. The team shot 70 times while making 31 for a solid 44%. 
 
The Ichabods were hot early taking an 11-4 lead and then eventually a 17-11 lead. Tanner McDaniel came up huge in the first six minutes racking up all seven of his first half points. The Braves proceeded to make an 8-1 run in the next 4 minutes to take the 19-18 lead. 
 
The half remained a close contest with the halftime score being 38-35 in favor of the Braves. McDaniel had seven points on 3-for-6 from the field and 1-for-3 from beyond the arc. Ty Abts kept them close with his team-leading 10 points while hitting two three-pointers.
 
After the game was tied at 53 apiece, the Ichabods took control going on a 19-9 run. Mario King contributed with two-three in that span. King was shut out in the first half but in the second, he tallied 13 points. Washburn would not let up the lead and sealed the deal with six consecutive free-throws.
 
In their highest scoring game of the season, Kevin Eman and Abts lead the way with 17. Five Ichabods scored double-digits. Josh Jamison recorded his third double-double of the season with 13 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds. Jamison also led the team with three steals
 
Another home game is in store for the Ichabods against Ottawa. Washburn will take on Ottawa Gold JV on Sunday, Nov. 28. Tip-off at 6 p.m.
