Chanute, Kan. -- Ichabods' women's JV basketball team took their first loss of the season with a score of 95-81 against Neosho Community College.
It was a strong showing from Washburn in the first half, shooting 15-for-36 for 42 percent from the field. Ichabods came out of the first down 27-24 but then outscored the Panthers in the second to make the difference one point in a 48-47 halftime score.

Chloe Carter led the Ichabods with 10 points in the first half. Willey shot 4-for-9 from the field and Carter shot 4-for-5.
The second half was a different story. The Panthers controlled the third quarter, scoring 22 points compared to the Ichabods' 14. Washburn went from shooting over 40 percent to 21 percent.
Raegan Wells had a nice second half. Wells made two of her nine shots and went 6-for-7 at the free-throw line for 10 points in total. Washburn put up 20 in the fourth however they could not close the gap.
Four Ichabods scored double-digits with Carter's 17 points leading the way. Willey and Lakyn Schieferecke scored 13 and Wells tacked on 14. Schieferecke, Carter and Jaden Newfarmer lead the team with five rebounds. Newfarmer also led with three steals.
Ichabods stay on the road to Lawrence, Kan. against Haskell Indian Nations on Monday, Nov. 22. Tip-off at 5 p.m.
