HIGHLAND, Kan. – Washburn men's JV basketball fall to Highland Community College, 69-54. Ichabods dug a hole in the first half they were unable to get out from.

Everything went right for Highland in the first half, taking a 39-24 lead. As a team, the Scotties shot 40 percent from the field and 38 percent from deep while making eight free throws. Washburn went just 9-for-30 from the field and 4-for14 from beyond the arc.

Ichabods improved to 37 percent shooting and scored 30 in the second half. The defense also held Highland to 30, however could not close the large gap.

Kevin Eman had a stellar game leading the team with 18 points on 7-for-19 shooting and 4-for-4. Eman did everything as he also led in rebounds with six and steals with three. Ty Abts was another bright spot for the Ichabods with 13 points while making three three-pointers and two blocks.

Washburn continues their road stretch as they head to Leavenworth, Kan. for a game against the University of Saint Mary on Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
