FORT SCOTT, Kan. -- Washburn men's JV fell to MCC-Penn Valley 83-57 in their season opener on Fri., Nov. 5. The Ichabods were competing in the Gladbach Classic hosted by Fort Scott Community College.

Washburn fell behind early as the Wolves took a 10-2 run to start the game. In the next six minutes they battled back to a 14-10 game. After a timeout taken by Penn Valley, the Wolves outscored the Ichabods 15 to 3, and the Wolves held a double-digit point lead from then on. The Ichabods' offense shot well in the first half shooting 11-for-12 but failed to get the free throw line with only one attempt. At the half, Washburn was down 47-25.

The second half went about the same as the first. Ichabods shot 45 percent. Kevin Eman and Josh Jamison led the Ichabods with 12 points. Eman shot 50 percent from the field and was 2-for-3 on free throws. Jamison was 6-for-7 in the game.

Ichabods play their second game in the Gladbach Classic on November 6 against Fort Scott Community College for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
