TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn women's JV lost a second consecutive tightly contested game, this time to Kansas City Kansas Community College, 58-46 at home.  

After ending the first quarter trailing 15-10 the Ichabods were held to just five points in the second quarter, allowing 13 on the other end, to face a 28-15 halftime deficit.  

After the BlueDevils scored the first two points of the third quarter Washburn reeled off a 17-0 run to take a 32-30 lead. Four players scored during the run, but were led by Raegan Wells who had nine points on 3-4 shooting just in the third quarter.  

Kansas City Kansas would recover in the fourth quarter, taking the lead back early and growing it back up to double digits. The Ichabods were stalled by turnovers late and unable to make the comeback, losing 58-46.  

Raegan Wells led Washburn, finishing with 22 points on 8-12 shooting to go along with five rebounds and three blocks. Bailey Collar added nine points along with two assists and two steals. Chloe Carter led the Ichabods in assists and rebounds, finishing with nine and six in those categories respectively.  

Victoria Jones led the BlueDevils in scoring, finishing with 20 points and eight rebounds. Jada Johnson added 18 points and had a double-double with 11 boards.  

Washburn committed 21 turnovers in the game but forced Kansas City Kansas into 20 of their own. The Ichabods were also outrebounded 49-35, allowing 20 offensive boards.  

Washburn will take on Hutchinson Community College on the road, Wednesday Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
