TOPEKA, Kan. – Washburn Ichabod head golf coach Ronnie McHenry has announced the signings of two future Ichabods who will join the program from the prep ranks in the fall of 2023.  

"Quinn and Alex are two guys that will come in and compete right away," McHenry said. "Both have siblings that played sports in the MIAA and know how good our conference is. They will work hard and do it the right way, it will be exciting watching them grow as people and players over the next several years."  

QUINN EARWOOD

Has qualified for the Kansas City junior Match Play Championship, finishing tied for fourth … won both the HJGT Mesa Junior Open and Kansas City Season Finale as a junior … participated in the Sonoran Amateur as a junior in a field of college golfers ... son of Marcy and Chad Earwood … plans to major in business management.  

ALEX VALDIVIA 

6-1 / 170 / Topeka, Kan. / Shawnee Heights 

Was a regional champion as a sophomore for Shawnee Heights and finished 6th at state with top-10 finishes in every tournament … as a junior was the conference and city champion … helped lead the Thunderbirds to conference titles both years as well as finished as runner-up at regionals … son of Rito and Shelley Valdivia … has two brothers, Justice and Ayden and one sister, Lauryn … brother Justin played golf at Washburn … plans to major in finance.
