TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field squad posted two school records, two NCAA provisional marks, and two event champions opening the 2022-23 season at the Washburn Alumni Invitational on Saturday inside the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.
 
Wyatt Heiman set a pair of records breaking the school record in the 60m dash with a time of 6.88 matching the same time he had in the qualifying race. Heiman also snapped the school record in the 200m by nearly three tenths of a second at 21.70 en route to a third-place finish.
 
Washburn went 1-2 in the high jump with Jordan Dale winning the event with a mark of 2.01m (6-07.00) with Alessandro Di Gregorio matching his height.
 
Connor Last won the long jump with a mark of 7.43m (24-04.50) besting the NCAA provisional mark of 7.10m. Josh Hopkins finished third in the event also recording an NCAA provisional jump with a leap of 7.20m (23-07.50).
