Scardanzan and Henry earn All-American honors on final day of 2022 NCAA Championships

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Washburn Ichabod men's and women's track and field teams put a bow on 2021-22 athletic season on the final day of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships with two All-Americans.
 
Virgi Scardanzan wrapped up her Washburn pole vaulting career with a second-place finish earning her fifth overall All-America award as an Ichabod after clearing 4.25m (13-11.25). The mark would tie for first place overall as the overall champion was determined by a jump-off. At Washburn, Scardanzan has three second-place finishes, a third-place finish. She was also award All-American after the spring 2020 indoor championships were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
Romain Henry finished eighth in the 110m hurdles to earn All-American honors with a time of 14.23. Overall it was his third All-America award as an Ichabod. He has previously finished sixth in the 60m in 2021, third in the 110m in 2021.
 
Competing in the final event of the season for the Ichabods, Taylor Gonzales finished 17th overall with a time of 16:56.08 out of 24 entries.
