Gene Cassell/Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Washburn men's track and field squad 4th entering final day of MIAA Championships 5/8/2022 1:12:00 AM EMPORIA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's track and field team is in fourth place after two days of the MIAA Outdoor Championships. The final day of action will start Sunday afternoon. Connor Last became Washburn's first men's outdoor champion as he won the long jump earning 10 team points with a mark of 7.76m (25-05.50) and Josh Hopkins picked up a team point with an eighth-place finish with a jump of 7.05m (23-01.75). The Ichabod discus squad picked up a total of 11 team points as Braden Rose led the charge with a third-place finish earning all-MIAA honors and six team points with an NCAA provisional mark of 53.73 (176-03) setting a school record in the process. Jaden Magana was sixth with an NCAA provisional mark of 51.13m (168-04) with a personal best earning three team points and Mitch Miller earned two team points with an NCAA provision and personal best mark of 50.53m (165-09). In the decathlon, Michael Pearl finished fifth earning four team points and Pau Borillo-Febrer was seventh picking up two team points. Ichabod hurdler Romain Henry qualified for the Sunday finals in both the 110m and the 400m finishing third in both.
