Washburn alone in second place after opening day of NSU Men's Golf Classic

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - - Washburn sits in second place after the first two rounds of the NSU Golf Classic with a total team score of 562 good for six under par.  

The Ichabods are five strokes behind Henderson State, which finished the opening day in first place with a total score of just 557.  

Dawson Wills is pacing Washburn through 36 holes, with rounds of 69 and 67 to sit at six under par for the day and tied for third place overall. He is six strokes behind the overall leader, Tradgon McCrae from Missouri Southern State after they shot a 130 on the day.  

Cade Uhlenhake shot 139 on the day, putting him all alone in seventh place. Daniel Duffin is in a tie for 18th place after shooting even par. Max Ullan concluded team scoring with rounds of 147 and 150 respectively, placing them in ties for 42nd and 62nd.  

Competing as individuals, Kade Prentice is tied for 42nd place with a score of 147, and Jackson Wexler is at eight over and tied for 62nd place. 

As a team the Ichabods avoided big scores, finishing with the second most pars on the day. They also performed well on par 4s, with an average score of 4.03 on them, tied for the second lowest in the tournament.  

In the third and final round of the tournament each group will begin on hole one, starting with individuals at 7:51 a.m. Washburn's team competitors will begin between 12:03 p.m. and 12:39 p.m.
