EMPORIA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team opened the outdoor season with day one of the Emporia State Relays on Friday. The Ichabods will continue action on Saturday in day two of the event. Overall the Ichabods had 10 personal bests on the day.

Adriel Holloway had the best finish of the day for the Ichabods placing second in the open competition of the hammer throw with a personal best of 48.13m (157-11). 

Paola Castaldi placed fifth in the invitational hammer throw with a mark of 51.09m (167-07).
