TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod men's golf team is in third place after the first two rounds of the Ichabod Invitational at Topeka Country Club. The final 18 holes will begin on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
Quinn Earwood leads the Ichabods with a 1-over 142 after rounds of 70 and 72. Earwood had eight birdies on the day pacing the Ichabods sitting in a tie for seventh after 36 holes.
Blake Saffell is in a tie for 22nd with a 4-over 146 scorecard for two rounds. He had rounds of 72 and 74 recording five birdies.
Zach Vandervoort joined Saffell in a tie for 22nd after two rounds with scores of 78 and 68 climbing 46 spots in his second round. Vandervoort had four birdies and one bogey in his second round.
Hayden Beck is in a tie for 28th after rounds of 73 and 74 for a total score of 5-over, 147. Beck had four birdies on the day.
Marco Anderson is in a tie for 43rd after 36 holes with a two-round total of 149 with rounds of 75 and 74 for a 7—over 149.
Zachary Haydamack is in a tie for fourth overall playing as an individual for Ichabods after shooting a 1-under 141 with rounds of 70 and 71.
Haydamack and Matteucci were both 5-under on the par 5 holes recording an average score of 4.17.
Also playing as an individual,
Lane Workman is in a tie for 35th finishing 6-over after rounds of 75 and 73 moving up 11 spots.
The Ichabods' final individual in the lineup,
Michael Matteucci, finished in a tie for 25th after 36 holes with rounds of 72 and 77 for a total score of 7-over 149.
The Ichabods are 11 shots back of Missouri Western who leads the tournament with a team score of 567. Central Oklahoma is in second with a team score of 569 followed by the Ichabods' score of 578. As a team the Ichabods were -10 under on the par five holes
Will Livermore leads the individual race after shooting a 4-under score of 138 after rounds of 66 and 72. He has a one-shot lead over Jeffery Johnston and Aiden Asby of Missouri Western.
