Washburn men's golfers leading the Tulsa Cup with 18 holes to play

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Washburn Ichabod men's golf team is the leader in the clubhouse after the first 36 holes of the Tulsa Cup at Indian Springs Country Club on Monday. The Ichabods will play the final 18 holes on Tuesday wrapping up the fall schedule.
 
The Ichabods were in second after the first round, shooting a team score of 302, trailing Southwestern Oklahoma State, but moved into the lead, recording a team score of 300 holding a six-shot advantage heading into Tuesday's final round. Three groups did not get to finish their second round and the final 18 holes will begin on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m
 
Blake Saffell leads the Ichabods sitting in a tie for 14th overall with a two-round total of 150 for a 6-over scorecard after rounds of par and 6-over in the second round. Saffell started the tournament with an eagle on his first hole of the day on a par-5, 538-yard first hole.
 
Hayden Beck is in a tie for 26th overall after rounds of 83 and 70 for a 9-over 153. Beck recorded 16 pars and two birdies in his second round of the day.
 
Zach Vandervoort sits in a tie for 29th with a 10-over 154 after following up his 10-over opening round with an even-par 72 in his second round. Vandervoort recorded an eagle on the first hole adding four more birdies.
 
Quinn Earwood is one shot back of Vandervoort in a tie for 35th. He opened with a 1-under 71 before carding an 84 in his second round. He started with 14 straight pars in the first round before birdieing 15 and 18 with a bogey in between for a first-day total of 11-over, 155.
 
Marco Anderson is in a tie for 44th after rounds of 77 and 80 for a 13-over 157. Anderson had four birdies on the day.
 
Playing as an individual, Zachary Haydamack is in a tie for 38th with one hole to play with before darkness ended the day.
 
Washburn is 26-over followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State and Harding at 32-over and Rogers State is 32-over as well with five players still to end their round.
