Ichabods open 2024-25 golf season with 6th-place finish at Central Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod men's golf team opened the 2024 season with a sixth-place finish at The Mule hosted by Central Missouri on Tuesday. The Ichabods will be on the course next at the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational Sept. 23-24 in Monkey Island, Okla.
 
Marco Anderson and Quinn Earwood led the Ichabods as they both placed in a tie for 14th with a three-round total of 215. Anderson had rounds of 70, 72, and 73 for a score of 5-over and Earwood's scorecard showed 72, 70, and 73.
 
Zach Vandervoort finished in a tie for 28th overall with rounds of 76 and 69 and 74 for a 9-over score of 219.
 
Hayden Beck placed in a tie for 52nd with scores of 78, 77 and an Ichabod third-round low of 69 for a 54-hole score of 224.
 
Blake Saffell finished in a tie for 58th with a 15-over score of 225 after rounds of 73, 77, and 75.
 
James Hill, playing as an individual with back-to-back rounds of 74 finishing with a final round of 79 for a score of 227 tying for 70th.
 
Central Oklahoma won the team event with a team score of 839 besting hosting school Central Missouri by 14 shots. Minnesota Crookston was third with a team score of 862 and Harding was fourth with a team score of 28-over.
 
Nicholas Canales from Central Oklahoma closed with a final round of 7-under 63 for a three-round total of 204. Teammate Jordan Wilson was one shot back at 205.
