TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team opened day one of the Washburn Open, recording two school records on the first day of the event. Day two will start on Saturday at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility with the multi events at 10:30 a.m.
Alex Hart finished fourth and set the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.69m (38-04.25) topping the previous school mark of 11.35m (37-03.00). Hart now owns the Ichabod top marks in both the triple jump and the high jump.
McKenzie Hayse finished fourth in the 200m in a time of 24.32 for a school record breaking the previous mark of 24.61. Her time was also an NCAA provisional mark.
In the 60m, the Ichabods will send three into the semifinals as
Alyssa Hutcherson was third in the preliminaries (7.59) and Ta'Mijha was seventh (7.63) followed by
Kamdyn Wedel was 26th (7.81) for a personal best.
