Washburn's No. 19 women's track and field team opens day one of Ichabod Invite

TOPEKA, Kan. – The No. 19-ranked Washburn women's track and field team opened day one of the Ichabod Invitational recording four NCAA provisional marks with an event winner and five top-five finishes.

Alex Hart won the invitational high jump clearing 1.79m (5-10.50) setting a meet record with an NCAA provisional mark.

In the 600-yard run, Isabella Kupka finished second with a personal best time of 1:25.27 and Ashley Heavner finished third in a time of 1:29.35.

In the 200m, McKenzie Hayse was fourth in an NCAA provisional time of 24.50, Ta'Mijha Nichols was fifth with a personal best time of 24.52 for an NCAA provisional time and Alyssa Hutcherson had a personal best finishing sixth in an NCAA provisional time of 24.54.

The Ichabods will return to action on Saturday with the first event starting at 10 a.m.
