Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team takes 3rd at MIAA Championships

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod women's track and field team tallied 103.5 points at the MIAA Indoor Championships placing a program-best third on Sunday on the final day of the event. The third-place finish is on the heels of last season's fourth-place finish where the Ichabods recorded 58 points.
 
The Ichabods' 60m squad recorded 14 team points as Ta'Mijha Nichols earned all-MIAA honors with a third-place finish with a time of 7.47. Alyssa Hutcherson picked up five points finishing fourth and McKenzie Hays earned three points after finishing sixth. All three times were NCAA provisional marks.
 
The group also scored 14 points in the 200m as Nichols set a school record in the event with a time of 24.04 earning all-MIAA honors and eight points, while Hayse (24.08) was fifth for four points and Hutcherson (24:53) was seventh scoring two points.
 
Isabella Kupka was all-MIAA with a second-place finish in the 600-yard with a personal best time of 1:22.98 scoring eight team points and Katelyn Jones earned one point in the same event with a time of 1:25.25 for a personal best time.
 
In the 800m finals, Lexie Fontaine picked up all-MIAA honors with a second-place finish with an NCAA provisional time of 2:10.24 scoring eight points.
 
Kaylee James picked up all-MIAA honors with a third-place finish in the 60m hurdles scoring six team points.
 
Kereser Augustin was third in the 400m earning all-MIAA honors with a school record time of 55.14 recording six team points with an NCAA provisional mark.
 
Theresa Osei finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.72m (38-05.50) for an NCAA provisional mark and a school record.
